ENGAGE EDA
Submit a new transaction for review or contact EDA about an existing engagement.
- Who May Engage
Engagements may be initiated by principals or by authorized advisors acting on behalf of a principal.
Authorized advisors may include legal counsel or other professional advisors.
- What EDA May Be Engaged For
- Each engagement is specific and limited to one transaction. Multiple transactions require separate engagements.
- What is a transaction?
A transaction means one identified commercial real estate transaction and may include multiple legal entities.
EDA uses transaction-identifying details provided in written instructions to distinguish one transaction from another. These details may include the transaction type, such as a purchase, sale, lease, financing, refinance, restructuring, transfer, assignment, amendment, or workout; the commercial real estate transaction context or purpose; the relevant existing or proposed entity, such as a buyer, borrower, landlord, tenant, guarantor, sponsor, transferee, or equivalent entity; the property or property set, such as a property address, property description, portfolio, parcel set, or equivalent; the principal transaction parties, such as a buyer, seller, borrower, lender, landlord, tenant, guarantor, sponsor, investor, transferor, transferee, or equivalent principal parties; and other identifying references, such as an internal matter name or number, deal name, third-party file or reference number, or other identifying reference.
A request does not need to include every detail before EDA can review it, but general future business activity, possible future opportunities, and unspecified plans do not identify a transaction.
- Reference Forms
Reference forms are available for review for the Engagement Agreement (athttps://edacre.com/engagement-agreement.html) and for the Entity Scope List (athttps://edacre.com/engagement-agreement/entity-scope-list.html).
When an engagement is accepted, EDA prepares the applicable documents with known engagement details.
- How to Engage
Use New Engagement Request for a new transaction. Use Existing Engagement Inquiry for an existing engagement.
Engagement is not initiated through logins, forms, or submissions within EDA-operated mechanisms.

The email links and copy templates are provided for convenience.
This email channel is for inquiries only and is not a method for service of process or formal notice under the Notices section of theTerms.- How Instructions Work
Once engaged, EDA receives and acts only on explicit written instructions related to the transaction.
Instructions must be transaction-specific and may be provided incrementally. EDA may request additional written information needed to carry out the administrative actions you instruct.
EDA does not infer intent, fill gaps, reconcile conflicting instructions, or act without written direction.
- How EDA Communicates
EDA communicates exclusively by email.
EDA communicates directly with you or your authorized advisors and, when expressly instructed, may request information from relevant third parties such as lenders, title companies, banks, or other counterparties solely for administrative purposes.
EDA does not operate a client portal, intake system, dashboard, or self-service workflow.
- When an Engagement Ends
An engagement exists only with respect to expressly instructed administrative actions tied to a single transaction.
No continuing obligation exists between instructed administrative actions. Closing does not by itself terminate the ability to perform a later administrative action within the same engagement if that administrative action is expressly instructed in writing and expressly tied to the same previously identified transaction. Any administrative action not expressly tied to the same previously identified transaction requires a new, separate engagement.
